Walking Tours of Dublin in French, Irish and Spanish for School Groups

Bookings are now open for our Walking Tours of Dublin in French, Irish and Spanish for Secondary School students, perfect for transition year and leaving cert groups (15 - 18 years).

Tours are also available in English (with some translations into French / Spanish) for French / Spainish schools visiting Dublin.

Our tours are a fun way for students to immerse themselves in the French, Irish, Spanish or English language while exploring Dublin's must-see sights like Dublin Castle, Dubh Linn gardens and Christchurch Cathedral and plenty of anecdotes and less well-known stories:

  • Did you know that the Irish flag was a present given by a group of french women to Irish revolutionaries in 1848?

  • Why are so many words (e.g work) similar in Spanish (obra) and Irish (obair) but so different in english?

  • How your guide offended his french mother-in-law by telling her that her omelette was perfect?

  • When American's say the phrase "You dig?", why are they almost speaking Irish?

All of that plus spot prizes and the Dublin à Pied quiz where one or two lucky pupils will win the official Dublin à Pied t-shirt!

The tours lasts approx 90 minutes and include a short toilet break in the middle.

Tours are available Monday to Friday with the start time of your choice between 9am and 3pm (Tuesday to Friday from November to Febraury).

One tour can accommodate between 20 and 40 students.

The price is €15 per student.

You will receive a worksheet with key vocab to prepare / revise with the students before or after your tour.

Your guide Alan was an actor and lived in France, Spain and Gaoth Dobhar before setting up Dublin à Pied. Swapping the classroom for the streets of Dublin, our tours bring languages to life.

Great tour as Gaeilge! Would thoroughly recommend it to TY student groups and others. A real opporutnity to hear Irish outside the classroom in a very interesting setting! Great variety of really interesting history of Dublin and fun facts including the fact that 4 langauges spoken in Dublin at one point in its history! Alan brings the tour alive with his obvious love for history and a nice plug for the importance of loving and speaking Irish. Iontach maith, GRMA
